Along with the community of St John’s Church, Dumfries, we are delighted to congratulate their Director of Choral and Organ Music, Jamie Brand, on receiving an MBE for Services to Music and Education in the Queen’s 95th birthday honours last month.
As well as having a demanding job as Principal Teacher of Expressive Arts, he directs St John’s own choir and oversees all of their more traditional music, as well as leading a number of local and regional choirs. Jamie also finds time to be fully involved in a number of other school activities at Annan Academy, to support activities at St John’s and to take an active part in the running of his family’s farm in East Lothian. We lift up Jamie in our prayers and are very grateful for his faithfulness and the skill, good sense, and energy he brings to all these activities.
